Rwanda Gicumbi Peaberry 250 g

Peaberry is a natural anomaly—instead of two flat halves, a single, more compact, and round bean develops inside the coffee cherry. This unique structure often results in a more intense flavor.

The washed process enhances the clarity of the cup, bringing out delicate tea-like notes and the bright acidity of red currant. A subtle caramel sweetness rounds out the profile, adding a pleasant depth. The beans are carefully selected, fermented, washed in pure spring water, and dried on African beds. This meticulous process preserves a clean, vibrant profile, reflecting the cool climate of Rwanda’s highlands and its nutrient-rich soils.

Gicumbi operates under Fairtrade principles, ensuring not only the quality of the coffee but also the well-being of the local community. One of the initiatives supported by the farm is the Early Childhood Development program, which helps provide education for the youngest children.

Gicumbi’s beans are the essence of Rwandan terroir—from selective harvesting and precise processing at the washing station to the final flavor profile that embodies the character of the region’s coffee.
