Itumpi AA is a vibrant showcase of what East African coffees do best. It opens with the zesty brightness of pink grapefruit, deepens into juicy blueberry, and finishes with the gentle richness of maple syrup. The texture is silky, the acidity lively yet balanced, and the overall experience—clean, layered, and deeply satisfying.
These beans come from the hills of southern Tanzania, where small-scale farmers around the village of Itumpi cultivate mostly bourbon-related varieties. Grown in clay-loam soils under consistent rainfall and mild temperatures, the cherries develop slowly and evenly. It's a region well-suited to quality-focused coffee farming, and the results speak for themselves.
A major leap forward came in 2019, when the cooperative opened its own wet mill. Since then, the quality has improved year after year—not just in cup clarity, but in the distinctiveness of flavour. With steady investment in better processing and hands-on farmer training, Itumpi has quietly become one of the most exciting names in Tanzanian coffee.
